Lynx Win Again

The Lynx put forth another solid effort tonight and came away with a well-earned 80-76 victory. Western conference wins are always tough to come by and the Lynx have now tied the season series at 1-1. That's big because every year it seems teams end up tied for the final playoff spot, head to head results is the first tie-breaker.

Big Players, Big Shots: Seimone scored 10 of her 23 in the 4th quarter, Candice 7 of her 17. Nicole Powell hit some huge shots for Sacramento. When the game is on the line you need to best players to step up and tonight they did. It's one of the reasons it was such an exciting game tonight.

Turning Turnovers Into Points: Just like Tuesday night the Lynx did a nice job forcing turnovers (16) and turning those into points (22). They finished with 14 fast break points (they had 10 against the Liberty) and gained plenty of confidence of all the easy baskets.

Rebounding Edge: Sacramento 34-29, 13-6 on the offensive glass. It's only the 2nd time this year that the Lynx have won a game in which they've been out-rebounded.

Playing in Pain: Monarchs guard Kara Lawson suffered a slight dislocation of her left shoulder in the 3rd quarter. She came back midway through the 4th with a protective brace and hit a big 3 to keep the Monarchs in the game.

Up Next: Saturday night at San Antonio. The Silver Stars suffered their first home loss of the season Tuesday night against Houston and they haven't played since then. Our radio coverage on BOB 106.1 FM gets underway at 7pm and the game is available on NBA TV.
